IIT Seminar Series: David Tonucci

David Tonucci*The Institute for Integrative Toxicology presents Dr. David Tonucci, MSU, to speak on, “Cultivated Meat: Technical Approaches, Safety Considerations and Regulatory Implications,” on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in 162 Food Safety and Toxicology Building.

Dr. Tonucci is an experienced regulatory toxicologist with over 30 years of experience developing a comprehensive background in global regulatory affairs focusing on new ingredient technologies in the food industry. Dave has focused his work on developing regulatory and toxicology programs to support the regulatory approval of novel ingredients, genetically modified enzymes, fermentation products as well as ingredients manufactured through biotechnology. Dr. Tonucci has led multinational regulatory and product safety organizations for Tate & Lyle and Givaudan as well as serving on the leadership team at SCiFi Foods leading regulatory, toxicology and advocacy activities. In addition, Dave works with the Michigan State University Center for Research on Ingredient Safety to address developing safety issues within the food, industrial and cosmetics industries. Dave is currently a consultant.
