Tiedje Recognized as One of MSU's Most Highly Cited Researchers

IIT-affiliated faculty member, Dr. James Tiedje, has been recognized as one of eleven Michigan State University researchers named in the 2021 Highly Cited Researchers List compiled by Clarivate Analytics.

Each year, the Web of Science Group identifies the world’s most influential researchers. The list includes those who have been most cited by peers over the past decade.

According to the report, the researchers had “multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science. Of the world’s scientists and social scientists, Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers truly are one in 1,000.”

Dr. Tiedje is a University Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences in the College of Natural Science and College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. He is also the former director of the MSU Center for Microbial Ecology.
