RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Zhang is broadly interested in the quality and sustainability of soil and water resources, and recently focuses on environmental processes and impacts of emerging contaminants (e.g., antibiotics, antibiotic resistance genes, engineered nanoparticles, and emerging microbial pathogens) in soil, water, and plant systems. The overarching goal of our research is to promote human and environmental health by improving knowledge on emerging issues of environmental concerns (such as antibiotic resistance and engineered nanoparticles) in agroecosystems and by contributing to applied solutions for ensuring clean, safe, and healthy soil, water, and food.
